Discover the fundamentals of free-motion quilting using your longarm quilting machine. This hands-on class is filled with techniques and exercises which will help you gain the confidence and skills needed to embark on your quilting journey. In addition to learning many beautiful foundational designs that you can build on as you improve, you will learn about selecting threads, adjusting tension, ergonomics, practice exercises, and much more! This class is taught in an encouraging, stress-free environment. Two to three students per longarm quilting machine. While this class is taught on our Innova longarm quilting machines, the tools and techniques can be used on your domestic machine as well.

This 3 hour class will give you the basic knowledge to begin hand-guided machine quilting. Lessons are $50 per student with 2 to 4 students per class. All supplies are included in the class fee. Once you've completed this class you will be qualified to rent our hand-guided machines to finish your own projects.

This 3 hour lesson will give you the basic knowledge to begin using the computerized AutoPiolot Mach3 Innova longarm quilting system. Lessons are $60.00 per student, 2 students per class. Supplies are provided at no extra cost. Once you've completed this lesson you are qualified to rent our computerized longarm quilting machine to finish your projects!

Come find out what rulers are all about with longarm machine quilting! All techniques can be applied to your domestic machine as well. Class price includes a ruler!

During this four hour class you will learn a variety of traditional and new quilting design ideas along with tips and tricks for longarm quilting that can also be applied to quilting on your domestic machine. Class price includes $50 materials kit consisting of book with CD, fabric panel, backing and batting.

You will learn a variety of methods for marking designs onto your quilt top with no fear, as well as how to consider threads and to setup your machine for success with quilting using specialty threads! Let's face it, Modern quilts are hot! They provide a beautiful canvas to showcase amazing quilting designs. Join Gina Perkes in this hands-on class, as she shares with you a variety of modern designs which will enhance your quilts perfectly. Discover how to manage negative space by creating foundational dividing shapes which are then filled in using more elaborate designs. Some of the designs you will learn include: gridwork basics (an introduction to rulers), geometric patterns, modern filler designs, and more! You will also gain many tips on decorative thread success, tension, trouble shooting, machine set up, and more. This is a fun and stress free class filled with creativity and tips for success. While this class is taught on our Innova longarm quilting machines all the tools and techniques can be applied to quilting on your domestic machine as well.

Have you ever been overwhelmed by the arduous task of creating quilting designs to t your borders? Have you ever lacked the confidence needed to design one-of-a-kind block motifs? In this hands-on class Gina will show you how to find inspiration and simplify the drafting process. You will learn how to design block and border designs using Gina?s award-winning techniques. You will learn how to mark your quilt top both prior to quilting and after quilting has begun, gain control, achieve balance, select and use threads, and much more! Whether you consider yourself an artist or are intimidated by the thought of drawing, you will come away with new confidence and techniques that you can begin using on your own quilts!

Do you ever find yourself uninspired when it is time to choose a quilting path for your finished quilt top? The quilting process plays a very important role in the overall success of the quilt. Gina will help you to determine an appropriate quilting plan for your quilts by addressing three important topics: function, style, and design in this lecture/demo class. In her slide show, she will share with you photos of quilts in a variety of styles. She will then give you examples of how she would approach the quilting. Students are encouraged to send photographs of quilts to be discussed in the presentation. This lecture/demo will be held in the meeting room at the Residence Inn in Helena.
