A Grand Thank you! And new classes - including filler techniques, ruler work and how to start your own longarm quilting business!

Welcome to Montana Longarm!

We're so happy you're here!

First of all - thank you all who came far and wide to make our Grand Opening a fun-filled and successful event! It was so great to see everyone's eyes light up and the great big smiles as they came into our Training Center this past weekend. We met a ton of new friends from far and wide as well as reconnected with many longtime quilting friends from the Helena area. We had door prize drawings, sales and specials, contests, demos and a fabulous trunk show. It completely exceeded our expectations and we are greatly humbled by all the compliments. We knew we were on to something when we started this adventure and it was absolutely reinforced by all of you. We are planning more fun-filled events in the upcoming year.

At your request have added several classes to our calendar. Check them and sign up on our website: www.montanalongarm.com. We would love to have you join us to learn how to use the machines, learn some new tips, tricks and techniques on longarm machines as well as what it takes to start your own home based longarm quilting business. In addition to more opportunities to take the Guide Permit or Pilot License classes, we recently added the following:

Feathers, Flowers and Fillers - Oh My! Join Leslie Justice as she takes you on a journey that will introduce you to basic free motion feathers, flowers and fillers. This class will enable you to fill your free motion quilting library with some basic designs and their simple variations. Can be used for both all over designs and custom quilting. Class fee includes three hours of instruction and practice along with class kit which will allow you to take your sample home with you.

Introduction to Longarm Ruler Work. Join Julie Dess for an introduction to longarm ruler work where you will find out what rulers are all about on longarm quilting machines. Learn a few basics to get you started. What you learn on the longarm can cross over to your domestic machine as well!

The Business of Longarm Quilting. Join Donna Bristow, owner of Montana Longarm Quilting and Supplies and her accounting resource, Katie Clark, RTRP who has been with her every step of the way, and learn how to set up and maintain your own home based longarm quilting business. Donna has several years of experience as a home based longarm quilting business owner and recently grew it into a retail business where she and her employees are providing professional quilting services on Innova Longarm Quilting Machines. This three hour class will include all the things you need to get started on your own journey as a home based longarm quilter. You will receive handouts with all the steps, websites, links and plenty of tips and tricks for getting your own business off the ground. Lunch will be provided. See you there!

Finally - as the hustle and bustle of the holiday season ramps up we wanted to remind you that we do have gift certificates for any desired amount. What a great way for your friends and family to get or give something that can be used for classes, quilting services, supplies, and of course, the practical and oh so comfortable Saddle Stools!

Warmest wishes to you all and hope to see you soon!
   Donna, Julie and Melissa
